Workshop: Combining High-Resolution Particle Size and Shape with Compositional Insights!

17 – 28 March 2025

Adelaide    Melbourne    Canberra     Wollongong     Sydney    Brisbane

You are invited to attend – Free to Register – Discover the Future of Materials Analysis

Key to developing and manufacturing high quality materials with the required performance is understanding the relationship between material structure and material properties. From metals and polymers to composites and ceramics, monitoring the particle size and shape is important to ensure the powder supply is consistent and meets QC specifications. It also plays a vital role when investigating novel alloys or composites or developing a new AM process.

This workshop will provide a series of short talks and live demonstrations of three key instruments essential for powder characterisation*:

  • Morphologi 4 automated imaging system uses a digital camera to capture high-quality 2D images of dispersed particles, and provides particle-specific size and shape information
  • Mastersizer 3000+ uses laser diffraction to measure particle size distribution
  • Phenom XL Desktop Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) offers automated SEM imaging and analyses with energy-dispersive X-ray (EDS) spectroscopy for elemental composition

*Bring your own samples for analysis

Participation is free of charge however it is essential to register.

Venues/ Duration:

You may select to attend either the morning and afternoon session (9am-12pm or 1-4pm) which is identical.
