Product Overview

LUNA-III Automated Cell Counter  is an affordable, fast and accurate brightfield cell counter designed to enhance your lab’s productivity and precision. Building on the proven success of the LUNA-II, the LUNA-III Automated Cell Counter offers an array of advanced features.

Using Machine Learning trained algorithms LUNA-III Automated Cell Counter can  more effectively identify a wide range of cell types and accurately identify single cells in aggregated samples. In this way LUNA III addresses the common limitations of dedicated bright field cell counters, which typically use less sophisticated cell recognition algorithms that struggle to accurately identify diverse cell morphologies or assess cell viability.

The LUNA III is a stand-alone, compact instrument that integrates precision optics with fast and accurate autofocus capability to optimise light levels and to capture high-resolution images while image analysis software enables accurate cell count and viability data. Users can create custom, cell-specific cell counting protocols or simply use the default counting protocol suitable for most cell lines. Live cells are tagged with green circles and dead cells are tagged with red circles, making it easy to verify the accuracy of each count. This compact cell counter sits comfortably in a cell culture hood or on a lab benchtop to fit seamlessly into user workflows.

Ideal for labs on a budget, the LUNA III automated cell counter can count samples with or without staining. Users may select to stain cells with trypan blue or Erythrosin B for viability data. It accurately detects total/live/dead cells at concentrations ranging from 5×104 to 1×107 cells/ml and cell sizes between 3 and 60µm.

The LUNA Reusable Slide delivers the affordability of manual cell counting without the associated time, subjectivity, and user-to-user variability. LUNA disposable slides offer further convenience and maintain the highest standard of cell counting accuracy with the added benefit of no mess or cleanup.
